- Design rugs: Contemporary styles designed in our studio in Malmö, Sweden. These rugs can be both machine made, handmade and hand knotted depending on the style.
- Unique rugs: Hand-knotted, unique pieces with character and heritage in each thread, carefully curated by in-house experts of the traditional rug segment.

OUR HISTORY
Convenience at your doorstep
Our story began in 2005 with a bold vision: to make unique, high-quality rugs accessible to everyone. As the world was moving online, shopping for rugs still felt stuck in the past. Limited options, knowing the right size, the hassle of transporting bulky pieces home – it was anything but convenient. We set out to change that. By offering an extensive selection of beautiful rugs and delivering them directly to your doorstep, we took the heavy lifting (literally) out of the process.
This spirit of innovation and forward-thinking continues to guide us today. With a focus on quality, convenience, and inspiration, we’re here to help you create a home you love, one rug at a time.
Timeline highlights
2005 – 2010
Our story begins in 2005 with the founding of CarpetVista, offering unique, hand-knotted traditional rugs online. Focused on quality and craftsmanship, the company sets the stage for its future in online rug retail.
2010 – 2015
The launch of the Rugvista store in 2011 introduces contemporary design rugs to our range. With this addition, we expand our assortment to suit more styles and preferences, ensuring there’s a rug for every home and personality.
2015 – 2020
Sustainability becomes a driving force. In 2017, we committed to ethical sourcing and fair working conditions by joining amfori BSCI. In 2020, sustainability efforts deepen with a partnership with Label STEP to support fair practices in handmade rug production.
2020 – today
Rugvista enters a new era of growth and innovation. In 2021, the company goes public. Rugvista unveils a refreshed brand identity and a new website, and the company expands with a Berlin office. By 2024, CarpetVista is retired, consolidating all rugs under the Rugvista brand.
